Important Change in The Delivery of Biometric Residence Permits (BRP)

Starting from Monday, 18th September 2023, the Home office will be transitioning from FedEx/TNT to the Royal Mail Group for the delivery of biometric residence permits (BRP). The service will continue in a manner similar to the previous provider, but there are some key differences to note:

  • No Signature Requirement A signature will no longer be required to receive your BRP. Instead, it will be posted directly through your letterbox or mailbox. If, for some reason, the delivery of the BRP is not possible, a redelivery will need to be arranged. Alternatively, the BRP can be collected from Royal Mail’s local delivery office. Details regarding this will be provided on the ‘Something for you’ card.
  • No Changes to Delivery Address Post-Dispatch Once the BRP has been produced and collected by Royal Mail for delivery, any changes to the delivery address will no longer be possible. Therefore, it’s crucial to ensure that your address details are consistently updated with UKVI.

We sincerely hope that this change will address and resolve the delivery issues we have previously experienced with FedEx/TNT. There have been instances where they attempted deliveries very early in the morning, sometimes as early as 6:30 a.m.

On other occasions, they would ring the bell once and, without waiting, leave the premises, causing inconvenience to the intended recipients.

With this new system in place, we anticipate smoother and more reliable BRP deliveries. The transition to Royal Mail Group aims to provide recipients with a more hassle-free and convenient experience.
