Funds required for PBS applications will be increased from 14 June 2012

TIER 5 16 March 2012
From 14 June 2012, the personal savings the Point Based System applicants must have to support their applications will increase.

If you plan to make a PBS Visa application on or after 14 June 2012 (6 April 2012 for the TIER 5 Youth mobility scheme), you must ensure the correct funds are held in your account as soon as possible.

FOR TIER 1:
The personal savings you must have to support your application will increase as below:
Tier 1 applicants - entry clearance: £3,100
Tier 1 applicants - already in the UK: £900
Dependents of Tier 1 applicants who have been in the UK for less than 12 months: £1,800
Dependents of Tier 1 applicants - all other applications: £800

FOR TIER 5:
The change will take place from 14th June 2012. If it is Youth Mobility Scheme, the change will start from 6th April 2012.

For all TIER 5 subcategories (except Youth Mobility Scheme) you must provide a bank document which shows that you have had at least £900 in your account at all times over the 90-day period.

For Youth Mobility Scheme, you need to show a balance of £1800 in your bank account and there is not a period of time you need to keep the money in the account.

FOR TIER 2:
The personal savings you must have to support your application will increase as below:
Tier 2 applicants : £900
Tier 2 dependants: £600
