Home Office Ends Consultation for Routes to Settlement

Home Office, UKBA, consultation, TIER 2, TIER 5, Work Permit 06 September 2011
The UK Home Office recently welcomed public responses on its consultation relating to employment related settlement, overseas domestic workers and Tier 5 applicants. The forum gave member of the public to submit responses and provide personal opinions on proposals.

The 12 week long forum proved to be successful and received over 11,000 responses which will soon be published on the UKBA website. Proposals appeared to be heavily concentrated on Tier 2 migrants who seemed to have the most suggestions on reform of their category in general. Some of them included:

At this exact time these all remain proposals and suggestions that need to be subject to consideration and analysis and therefore the current rules of settlement remain unaltered. Any alterations to any rules will be further publicised and more information can be found on the UKBA website.
