Mr Coates has previously worked in the UK Border Agency and has specialised in immigration law for over 18 years. He has worked as a Solicitor and Partner with leading law firms Lovells, Simmons & Simmons, Kingsley Napley and Paul L Simon Solicitors.

He has gained extensive experience in all aspects of immigration law and in dealing with the UK Border Agency and Entry Clearance posts abroad. He frequently travels abroad to assist clients with consular applications.
